About
Steelbow Farm was established in the winter of 2017 in Central Maine. After three successful seasons there, Finegan Ferreboef & Jason Gold decided to move back to Austin, Texas. There they grew their farm, family and business and provided specialty organic vegetables for many local restaurants, wholesale outlets and CSA communities. With over 20+ years of farming experience they have once again moved onto new ground. Because of a tremendous opportunity to participate in a historic farm transfer, Steelbow Farm is now happily settling into rich soils here in Ancram, New York.
We are currently making a new home on some well loved ground. Finegan and Jason are delighted to have been chosen as the new stewards of the ever-loved Thompson Finch Farm. As the farm name suggests, accessing secure land tenure and affordable ground has always been a part of the farm’s journey. Because of a tremendous effort between many stakeholders; farmers, land trusts, and committed community members, the soil we now tend is protected and will forever remain productive farmland. As tenants with a 99 year lease, Steelbow and its farmers are finally able to settle into a farm and invest in the long term future. Creative land access is near and dear to our hearts and we look forward to exploring new ideas and avenues for a collaborative and dynamic farm property. We are honored to be a part of this land’s story and ultimately pass the legacy on. But for now, this is home, and we can’t wait to grow.
