Located along the Kennebec River in Norridgewock, Maine, Steelbow Farm grows fresh, nutritious vegetables of the highest quality.

We grow with community in mind. We believe that great food is an integral part of enduring relationships. Currently we cultivate two acres, intensively, organically, and sustainably. Our farming practices are intentional and deliberate. We do not use chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. We farm with the health of the soil in mind, adding organic matter via cover crops and compost. We avoid tilling, in order to keep microbial life thriving. Our hands are our most cherished tools.  We have simple goals; feed good people good food and care for the land so it will be happy and healthy for generations to come.

Steelbow Farm 2019 veggie shares are on sale now! Sign up for our CSA program and receive a weekly offering of fresh, delicious vegetables and culinary herbs from our farm. We offer three types of CSA options: a “market” style for those who wish to choose their own items directly at the farmer’s market, a salad share for the die hard salad lovers out there, or a traditional farmer’s choice; a weekly predetermined share that is boxed up and ready for you to pick up and enjoy!

For Portland CSA members, this year we are collaborating with three other stellar local businesses to offer more variety and good times. Oxbow Brewing will offer special farmhouse ales for purchase at pick-up, Night Moves Bread & Pie will have bread from Maine grown and milled grains as an add on, and we’ll be offering Tandem Coffee roasted fresh that morning as well.
